![]() ![]() The Austria of course proceed to get slaughtered by the Prussians, with Prussian taking like zero casualties (wasn't even kidding). ![]() The Prussians were armed to the teeth and using new tier 2 or 3 troops. The Austria forces got there first, and my troops hasn't arrive there. Basically, what was supposed to be 2 on 1 became simply a 1 on 1. Firstly there is this thing called "your allies has gotten lost" or something like that. So Austria and I combined siege it, looking like a sure win. They were down to one of their very last city. ![]() However what really broke the game for me was when I was on the edge of finishing off Prussia. Even so I was winning on all fronts, with Austria and Russia helping me. I was fighting Sweden, Ottoman and Prussia all at the same time. And with no improvement in sight, it is obvious that a breaking point is coming when I can no longer defeat the enemies. But it feels more and more like a drag instead of fun. I defeat enemy's newer tier 2 or 3 units constantly with my old tier 1 units. I actually believe I did pretty well giving the situation. When a game takes so long and it's so complicated, it takes the players forever (if ever) to do what they want to do, resulting in a lost of interest. ![]() But all that means is whenever you call an election it randomly generated some dudes with random stats. I played as Poland and they use some kind of democracy system. And those spying or whatever didn't help much. Meanwhile the enemies are obviously pumping out newer stronger units. So after many hours in I was still pumping out tier 1 old units and no ship, not a single one. Maybe I don't fully understood the game, but it just feels very hard to get any upgrades going. I tried very hard to get into it, but it is just different. I was so into it that I bought Empire TW. It has a good mix a complications and enjoyment, even when the calvary were quite OPed vs the AI. The last "grand strategy" game I played was Rome TW1. The DLCs do make the game better, but vanilla shouldn't be too bad. One thing I've unfortunately learned is a lot of the DLC's are so basic quality of life things that should already be implemented into the game. I have 900 hours on this game and still have no idea what I'm doing. ![]()
